Six years after it took over the Behnke Nursery space on River Road, Potomac Petals & Plants is closing up shop to make way for a new senior living community. But manager Frank Butler says the business is thriving, and will likely find a new home in the Potomac area. “This is actually a great time to be in the plant and flower business,” Butler says. “We’ve been doing surprisingly well during this period of Covid, as there has been a huge interest in plant gardening, vegetable gardening and flowers.” The nursery is selling off much of its inventory before doors close this spring.
