Vegan restaurant chain PLNT Burger arrives on Rockville Pike this weekend, opening a new location inside the North Bethesda Whole Foods Market. Founded two years ago by D.C. chef Spike Mendelsohn, PLNT Burger serves up meatless Beyond burgers and sausages, vegan “chicken” sandwiches, French fries, sweet potatoes and deep-fried onions. On the sweet side, they also offer oat milk shakes, dairy-free soft serve and vegan cookies. PLNT Burger now has 10 locations in the DMV and Pennsylvania, most of them inside Whole Foods markets.
