Two and a half years after Gregorio’s Trattoria announced plans for a new location at Park Potomac, we’re happy to report that construction is finally underway. For real this time. The long-delayed project has been held up in part by issues with its outdated HVAC and ventilation system, which are now being addressed by the landlord. Inside the former Sugo space, workers have started building out the future dining area, large bar and a room for private dining. Owner Greg Kahn says he’s hoping to open by spring or summer. Kahn, who owns three other Gregorio’s restaurants in Bethesda, Reston and nearby Cabin John Village, says there’s plenty of business in Potomac for two locations. In fact, he recently signed a new 10-year lease at Cabin John.
