Clothing chain American Eagle has been in the news this week as it fights for the right to break its leases at troubled malls in San Francisco and Charlotte, N.C. Meanwhile, the opposite is happening in Montgomery County. Not only is American Eagle staying put at Westfield Montgomery mall, but it’s actually getting a facelift. During the renovation, you can still shop American Eagle at its temporary quarters next to Macy’s Home. The redesigned store will reopen around Thanksgiving. In other mall news this week: Fast-casual Indian eatery Butter Chicken House is replacing Jamaican eatery Ya Mon next to Chick-fil-A. And Ebere, a clothing store that arrived at the mall last spring, has downsized from a full-sized store to a kiosk.
