Yardbird finds a perch on the Pike

New place to shop for outdoor furniture in North Bethesda: Yardbird is now open at 11610 Rockville Pike, in the space that used to be home to City Bikes. Yardbird, launched just five years ago in Minneapolis, specializes in eco-conscious furniture made from recycled ocean plastics. (The retailer happens to share its name with a southern-style restaurant chain, famous for its fried chicken, that recently opened in D.C. The two businesses are unrelated.) Ledo returns to Rockville

In mid-2020, Ledo Pizza went dark in Rockville after a quarter-century at the Woodmont Station shopping center. The restaurant reopened last week after a complete renovation by its new owners: brothers Sam and Jigar Sheth, whose family also own the Ledo Pizza in Wheaton. The only thing that hasn’t changed here is the menu, which is exactly the same at every Ledo location.

Panera's back

Surprise reopening in downtown Rockville: Panera Bread on East Middle Lane is back in business for the first time since 2020. With the courts in session again, workers returning to their offices and hotel guests coming back to the Cambria hotel upstairs, staffers say there’s enough traffic to keep Panera in business from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. For now at least, the restaurant will remain dark on Saturdays and Sundays.

This week we say goodbye to AcuSpa, which has closed its doors after a six-year run at Rockville’s Potomac Woods Plaza. This space was previously occupied by another massage-and-manicure business, Natural Body, and had a short run in between as the Lacy Couture boutique. Word is there’s a new tenant on the way.
