Signs of change in Potomac Village
Two years after Walgreens completed its purchase of Rite Aid, the Potomac Village drugstore at 10134 River Road is finally changing its branding. Renovations are now underway, with a “grand re-opening” scheduled for Feb. 21st. Meanwhile, the older Walgreens store right across the street is expected to stay in business for the foreseeable future. And just around the corner, another new tenant is moving into Potomac Village: Pure Barre is scheduled to open next month a few doors down from Tally-Ho. Stay tuned to Store Reporter for a firm date.

Bobby's flames out
This week we say goodbye to Bobby’s Burger Palace, closing Feb. 15th at Westfield Montgomery mall. Its successor, New Haven pizzeria Frank Pepe, is scheduled to open next winter along with fellow newcomer Peking Duck. For more on Frank Pepe, check out our Dec. 5th edition. Coffee cafe at the JCC
Park Potomac coffee shop Filicori Zecchini has expanded to Rockville with a new location inside the Bender Jewish Community Center. Operating under the name 2 Beans in a Cup, the shop is located just behind the entrance and is open to all JCC members and visitors. The menu is similar to the one at Park Potomac, as is the stunning copper bar. But at the JCC location, everything is kosher. 2 Beans in a Cup is the second Rockville coffee shop to open this winter; click here for the scoop on Java Nation.
