This week we say goodbye to three stores at Westfield Montgomery Mall that didn’t survive the holidays. First to exit was The Limited, which is closing stores across the country as it prepares to file for bankruptcy. Also out is Smart Toys, a longtime tenant that doubled as Halloween Adventure every fall. And R. Riveter, a Shark Tank-backed business featuring handbags sewn by military spouses, has closed its doors after a short run in the former Eileen Fisher space. Even though the concept didn’t appear to catch on with shoppers at Westfield Montgomery, R. Riveter tells us it’s looking to open other pop-up stores in the D.C. area.
