Two interesting new restaurants are on the way to Rockville Town Square, filling some of the empty spaces on Gibbs Street. Èkó House is taking over the Bar Louie space with a menu of Nigerian specialties, while El Mercat Bar de Tapas will offer Spanish appetizers, sangria, wine and beer across the street from First Watch. The latter spot has been home to a parade of short-lived restaurants including Bobby’s Crabcakes, Tippy’s Taco House, 82 Steak Out, Ev & Maddy’s, Lab Cafe and most recently Gumbo Ya Ya.
