These are the final weeks for the Dormify pop-up shop at Westfield Montgomery mall; doors close Aug. 27th when the last of the college kids are off to school. Dormify, founded in 2012 by a mother-daughter team from Potomac, is following in the footsteps of Warby Parker, Bonobos and other online retailers as it tests that market with a few brick-and-mortar locations. “When customers can touch and feel our products in person, when they can see for themselves the softness of our bedding and the quality of our storage items, it really contributes to the ‘wow’ factor,” says Dormify exec Stephanie Kimel. So which products have been getting the most wows this summer? Bedding in muted palettes of grey and white; faux-fur pillows with colorful throws for contrast; and cushioned headboards that can be mounted on the wall and removed when the school year is over.
