Le Pain heading to Cabin John
More good news for the dining scene at Cabin John Shopping Center: We hear that Le Pain Quotidien will soon be joining the lineup. Le Pain, which also has a location at the Wildwood Shops, is known for its communal tables and plant-based menu of soups, salads, breads and pastries (click here to check it out). Le Pain hasn’t confirmed the details yet, but it would likely be part of the new restaurant row that broke ground this week in Cabin John’s parking lot. Nordstrom gets new look + online service
Big changes this fall for the Nordstrom store at Westfield Montgomery Mall. The first floor has a new layout, the cafe is getting a facelift, and BP Shoes has moved upstairs to make room for a spruced-up home decor department. Also new is a dedicated area for online shopping, where customers can pick up their Internet orders and test out Nordstrom’s new “Reserve & Try In Store” program. The concept is pretty simple: Browse through the Nordstrom app, click on the clothes you like, and let the staff do the work of pulling those items together. When you arrive at the store at your appointed time, you’ll find a fully stocked dressing room with your name on it. For more on how it works, click here.
Ramen bar for Pike & Rose
Jinya Ramen Bar, a Los Angeles-based chain specializing in flavorful Asian broth and noodles, will open at Pike & Rose in mid-2018. It’s the fourth new restaurant on the way to the North Bethesda complex, which also is adding Nando’s, Taylor Gourmet and the high-end Mexican eatery Nada. Jinya is new to this area, with a year-old location in Fairfax and another that just opened in D.C. Click here to check out the menu.
New at the mall
Here’s a look at the new Victoria’s Secret and Pink stores that opened last weekend at Westfield Montgomery Mall. You’ll find them on the upper level, just outside Macy’s. To see what else is new as the mall gears up for the holidays, click here for our Oct. 19th edition.
