Two new restaurant concepts — a chef-driven taqueria and another Asian food hall — are about to fill a pair of long-empty spaces at Rockville’s Pike Center. Moving into the old Bagel City storefront is Buena Onda Baja Taqueria, a Pennsylvania-based chain from James Beard award-winning chef Jose Garces. This will be the first Maryland location for Buena Onda, whose name roughly translates to “Good Vibes.” In the larger space next door, which once belonged to Cici’s Pizza, D.C.’s recently opened Luna food hall is planning a second location. This will be a multi-restaurant space similar to The Block at Pike & Rose and The Spot at Rockville Town Square — not to mention Pike Kitchen, just a few shopping centers away on Rockville Pike.
