Wegmans on the way
We’ve been hearing this rumor for months, and apparently the buzz was true: Wegmans, one of the nation’s best-loved grocers, is coming to Rockville. Developer B.F. Saul Co., which is planning a walkable transit-oriented community around the Twinbrook Metro Station, says it has signed a lease with the uber-popular grocery chain for a store at the corner of Halpine Road and Rockville Pike. Local shoppers have been waiting for Wegmans since at least 2014, when it was rumored to have been part of the long-stalled redevelopment plan for White Flint.
